* Fishing Derbies for Children 12 and Under: Lower Pond on Hatchery Rd - Various Sponsers (Free)
- June 6 - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. - Berkshire Hatchery Foundation
- July 18 - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. - Izaac Walton League (Berkshire Chapter)
- August 15 - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. - Friends of Lake Garfield
- September 19 - 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. - Berkshire Hatchery Foundation
 
* 8th Annual Lobster Fest: August 23, 2009 - 2 p.m. (Tickets $65)
- Menu includes: lobster, clams, corn on the cob, clam stuffing, salad, watermelon, raw bar, and one free drink (beer, wine or soda).
- Live entertainment and good
company.
- Seating limited to 150, so reserve early!
- All proceeds
benefit the Hatchery.
 
* 1st Annual Fishing Derby in the Konkapot River: September 19-20, 2009 (Free)
- Open to all ages.
- The River is going to be stocked with brook and brown trout starting from the bridge in the center of Monterey (Rte 23) to the bridge in the center of Hartsville (Rte 57) - approximately 7 miles of river.
- Register at the Berkshire National Fish Hatchery - you may register anytime before the derby date and will be asked if you're using a fly or spinning rod.
- ***All Massachusetts Laws Apply***
- Prizes for the biggest fish - length, weight, girth.
